HELP IN OUR HOMING DEPARTMENT

About HKDR

Founded in 2002, Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) was established with the aim of saving unwanted and abandoned dogs and puppies. HKDR has since grown to encompass not only rehabilitation and re-homing, but also other aspects of animal welfare such as education and campaigning for improved animal protection laws. HKDR continues to save, rehabilitate and re-home hundreds of dogs and puppies every year and relies entirely on donations and fundraising projects to be able to continue. HKDR is proud to be a No Kill Organisation.

The Job

The job is basically matching dogs with adopters, but there are many aspects including paperwork, vet visits and just about everything else. This job can either be on a full-time (5 days a week including Sundays) paid basis, part-time, or simply as a volunteer. Training will be given as well as back-up by the other staff and full time in-house dog trainer. Anyone who wants to apply for this job needs to spend some time at our kennels first to see if you are really up to the challenge.

Candidate's Profile

  • Loves and understands dogs
  • Is comfortable talking to potential adopters
  • Confident enough to be able to say no when necessary
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team
  • Willing to work on Sundays
  • Is computer literate
  • Speaks and writes fluent English. Bi-lingual even better.

The Rewards

  • Working with dogs and learning all there is to know about them
  • Learning basic veterinary care
  • Working alongside a professional trainer and learning the skills
  • Seeing abandoned dogs go from "Death Row" to a new life in a new home

Please email Sally at hongkongdogrescue@yahoo.com  for more details.

VOLUNTEER ACCOUNTANT

We also urgently need a VOLUNTEER ACCOUNTANT to help keep our accounts in shape. Our volunteers handle day-to-day paperwork but we need a professional to do the monthly balance sheet and reconciliation.

If you can help and for more details, please email Candice at admin.hkdr@gmail.com.
